In order to supply you with the very best meat all year round we also source livestock from other carefully selected organic farms in the area. We are proud to support these farms and will always tell you exactly were your meat has come from. We try and base our decision on the following factors:-
Breed – We make sure that all replacements are the same breeds that we have on our farms
High Animal Welfare – We ensure that all of our suppliers are organically certified with the Soil Association or Organic Farmers and Growers.
Diet – Pasture-Fed has a great story to tell. There are significant benefits to do with the quality of the produce and the welfare of the animals that graze pasture, all combined with a very positive environmental message. Red meat from animals reared on grass is known to contain much higher levels of beneficial fatty acids and other compounds, such as conjugated linoleic acid which have been shown to have anti-cancer properties.
Locality – We try and source animals as closely to our farms as possible and continue to use our local abbatoir at Langford, Bristol University.
As well as our own butchers and online service, you can buy our meat from these fantastic local supplies:
